Implementing an alarm clock in Windows 7
Hello!I'd suggest to implement an alarm clock. It will avoid to download and install 3d party applications on computer, also nobody can"t ensure for 100%that those applications harmless. Moreover needed less memory.I think it would be nice.

Nakir - Actually, you can hum a few bars and fake it with what you've got.Open the Task Scheduler - set it to play your loudest, most obnoxious MP3 file atwhatevertime and turn your speakers up. Instant alarm. No need for 3rd party stuff. As long as your computer's clock is working properly, it'll work.

You're right, well that solution have a BUT.It does works perfectly for me and other expirienced users, but the newby ones will be much happier if the only had to Right Click on watch at the buttom of the screen and than just click on Set Alarm.Don't you think?

Nakir - Ok.. A newbie would probably have a bit of a harder time than most. I'll give you that. But then again, a newbie would have a hard time with pretty much everything else as well. There's only just so much hand-holding you can do without bloating the OS to death. Let's say Microsoft were to implement an alarm clock. How exactly do you think they'd do it? They'd make it a front end for creating - you guessed it - a task scheduler event. Besides, there are already clocks available from Microsoft (gadgets) that have an alarm function.

Yes. I just went to my clock on the bottom right and wanted to set an alarm for a date by right clicking on it, and nothing happend... but should it not open a dialog to set an alarm? Also, once the alarm is set, it should change the color of that date to show alarm has been set. Later when moving the mouse over that date, it should show the time of the alarm(s). Alarms should be turned off by pressing anykey or moving the mouse once they have sounded. A snooze function should also be possible by having the alarm sound again say 10 minutes later (snooze time can be variable of choice) if a dialog box is not clicked on "OK" following the anykey or mouse movement, whereby the alarm will sound again at the set interval and stay on until the dialog boxes "OK" is clicked. Also, the alarm should be an anoying voice like your mom or dad telling you to get up and get out of bed you lazy bum, or something simular (or a song if that works for you). Okay, a list of selectable choices of wav files to play for the alarm would be nice when setting up the alarm, catagorized by the kind of alarm needed (i.e. waking up in the morning, Reminders: don't forget..., etc.), and all of which can be customized by changing the wav file, or recording you own, with integrated recorder links and configuration options that are easilly found and operated. Most important, a pre-configured alarm setup and default alarms and sounds should be initially available to all one has to do is select the date, time, type of alarm, and hit "OK." KISS.

Hi, I am now trying "zCalendar". Works pretty well BUT: It doesnot show on top of all other open windows on your screen. It you have left the computer for a few minutes you miss the signal and the message is hidden. Or have I missed something here? Regards, janfjanf3208
