I prefer imbedding objects such as excerpts, images (gif, jpg etc) in the body of my emails. I have not been able to figure out how to do this. The "pictures" feature is not sufficient / adequate. Attachments are not a solution. Appreciate your help. This was one of the main features of Windows Mail I appreciated. (No, I'm not a "power user". I just appreciate simplicity,)

If you're using the stand-alone wlmail program (not the web-based live mail), then you will find what you're looking for on the MenuBar. It's likely the MenuBar is not visible. You can reveal it by pressing Alt, or Alt+M to make it permanent.While composing a new message, look for the Insert dropdown menu on the MenuBar. In particular, choose Insert > Image > Inline...

1.) If you're in already in Explorer, you can select the images you want then select "Email" in the command bar. After attaching it will ask you if you want to make a photo-email, which you do.2.) If you're in the Live Mail application, select the "Photos" button (under the subject line, to the right of the "Format" button) and it will addyour photo(s) into the body of the message. After a single photo has been added, you can add more photos using the "Add more photos" button at the far left of the ribbon-ish toolbar.While in the ribbon-ish toolbar, under Photos, you can add frames and change upload quality. You can reorganize the way the images are displayed using the "Layout" "tab". (they really need to make these things look like actual tabs...)

Vistaline, I think Phil's objective is to embed pictures inline, as opposed to formatting them as photos or attaching them. I definitely prefer to embed them. The drag-n-drop and cut-n-pastemethods have not worked correctly (for me at least) since the photo capability was first implemented.I also cannot find any convenient right-click method to embed them. So the MenuBar Insert tool is the only way I know of. It works. I use it all the time. I like it. :)

Derosnec has the right take on what I asked. I should have used the terms "cut and paste" and "drag and drop"" as opposed to imbed. It's a mystery to me why these can not be included as primary features in Live Mail since everyone I know uses them routinely and is the principal arguement I get from them about taking Windows 7 seriously. Perception seems to be that 7 is a "tech update" as opposed to real grubby users.Thanks for the try, though.
