Ignoring neighbours wireless networks
Previously when using WinXP and scanning for available wireless networks, it was possible to tell XP to ignore other wireless networks that were in range. For example I was able to right-click on a neighbour's wireless network and select an option which effectively told XP to ignore that network. That wireless network would then appear with a big red cross next to it and XP would never try to connect to it. However, I can't seem to find a similar option in Vista. In the list of available wireless networks I can see two other networks as well as my own, but there doesn't appear to be any option to tell Vista to ignore those networks. Any ideas?

Highlight then right-click and get into the properties for a particular wireless network, ie. your own for example, you can go to the Connection tab and check the Connect automatically when this network is in range checkbox and subsequently uncheck the Connect to a more preferred network if available checkbox. This Cable Guy article explains how to connect to wireless networks with Vista quite nicely... http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/columns/cableguy/cg0406.mspx
