Iexplorer in Windows 7
When I click oncertain links with my IE that came with the Windows RC, nothing happens. This doesn't happen for every link though. For example the link "iexplorer.exe process" above this question doesn't work for me. Instead of actually connecting to ths page I want to go to, another iexplorer.exe is shown in my task manager. I was in in mybank's site yesterdayto buy some shares on the stock market, but instead of showing me the new page on that site another iexplorer.exe was shown in task manager and I had to use my XP-computer instead. Usually after surfing the web a while, there area number of iexplorer.exe showing in task manager. When I use my XP-computer and do the same stuff nothing is wrong, everything works just fine.

Does the issue occur in Safe Mode? In addition, it is recommended to run antivirus software scan the computer. Thanks.

I would check that machine immediately for malware. Internet explorer shows up as iexplore.exe on my PC NOT iexplorer.exe. Do a google/bing on iexplorer.exe and you'll see.Windows 7 x64 RC, Asrock K8NF6P, AMD64 3200+, 1.5GB RAM, Palit Geforce 8400GS 256MB, 500GB Maxtor SataII, Asus 1814BLT optical

It should beiexplore.exe and not iexplorer.exe,my typing error. The problem occurs in safe mode as well. http://news.netcraft.com/ this site has a search engine and it doesn't work for me. I tried the bank once more in safe mode as well as the regular mode and the same happened. I get an error when I have restarted my system: Smartheap library, MEM_BAD_HANDLE. I'm going to reinstall my system with a clean installation and if the problem goes away I'm happy. Otherwise I'll post something here. Could this iexplore problem be an error caused by another program? If so the problem goes away now! Thanks

Glad you are up and running. Please bear in mind that a lot of malware will try and hide itself as a valid service/program within Windows. Hence my post regarding ieplorer/iexplore Another one is using scvhost instead of svchost. Pretty easy to scan over and miss.Windows 7 x64 RC, Asrock K8NF6P, AMD64 3200+, 1.5GB RAM, Palit Geforce 8400GS 256MB, 500GB Maxtor SataII, Asus 1814BLT optical
