Icons and Taskbar missing when starting up black screen only.
I have windows xp, The only thing i can access when computer has booted up is the Task Manager. Any help would be grateful. 1 person needs an answerI do too

Have you tried running system restore to a date before you had the problem?If not, in Task Manager > Applications Tab click ‘New Task’ at the bottom and type %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe followed by the Enter key. Follow the prompts to restore to a previous date.Good luck.
