There are'nt many new PC's sold with winxp.Winxp is no longer avilable to purchase, accepting from people who have old stockWinxp will be out of support in a few years, much new hardware doesnt support winxpFor your type of useage more memory and a faster cpu is not going to make much difference to winxp

Buying a new comp.Palcouk's advice is sound. In particular, after April 2014, Microsoft will no longer offer any updates, including security updates, for XP service pack 3.However, some manufacturers are still making business computers (probably not "home" computers) available with XP. You didn't specify laptop or desktop, buthere are some Dell netbooks that come with XP Home. Netbooks are pretty stripped down -- the main idea is to save weight -- and they are not very expandable later, if at all. Part of the light weight is achieved by not having an internal CD/DVD drive. You can (and virtually must) by a USB CD/DVD drive. Further, because these are intended for business customers, there isn't much, if any, included software. Generally, that's a very good thing (you don't want most of the crapware usually installed on consumer-grade PCs, but if you are thinking of one of these, be sure to go through the "customize" steps carefully.Other OEMs, such as HP, also offer computers with "downgrade" rights to install Windows XP. Again, look in the "Small and Medium Business" section of the website, not in the "Home" or "Home & Home Office" section.
