I wnat to use two nic in one xp computer. One connected to internet through a router connected to dsl modem the other connected to my office network through a gigabit router
I need my server to be connected to both the internet and my office network. I have two nic's in the computer but I am only able to enable one at a time. I need the internet connection to file electronic insurance claims and the other one connects to a gigabit router for my office network. all the work stations connect to this server. I am trying my best to keep patient info off of the internet except whten I file insurance. Would I be better off putting this configuration on a workstation rather than the internet?1 person needs an answerI do too

HiAs an Example a typical local IP address look like this, 192.168.1.1First 3 groups are called subnet, in the case the subnet is 192.168.1. x x being the IP of each computer on the Network. If the Router and one NIC are configured to 192.168.1.x the second NIC and the rest of the computers should be configured with a static IP of192.168.2 .x I.e., the second network subnet is different from the first one.Alternatively, you can do more elaborate solution with two Routers like this,http://www.ezlan.net/shield.htmlNote*, in the latter if you want, the computers behind the second Router can be set to access the Internet too, tthey will be protected behind the second Router with double NAT.
