You can uninstall windows update in the add/remove programs, but you must check "Show updates" in order to view installed updates.

However, no matter update is NEW or OLD you still need all update to have better protection and performace, if there is a new update that do job of old one ,then old one will override.

Of course it is completely unwise to EVER remove any security as these. Without these, as advised, the malicious can gain control of your computer and is why they are issued and especially in "zero day threats" which get patched by Microsoft for Windows - all. If you remove the security updates you are re-opening the computer system to threats and can only rely on real time protection antimalware products to protect your computer system and personal files. If memory is the issue, you can try CCleaner (free, very very popular) which gives the click for deleting/removing all Uninstallers of like Service Packs (should be at SP3 service pack 3) - which can free about a Gig, maybe more. Of course this is with the understanding that the average user should be FULLY patched and all service packs installed and are experiencing NO problems - and would be why you would uninstall these as knowing from the security point that they are completely neccessary for secure computing and will never be uninstalled in the life of the PC. Point is here I have an older XP Desktop as one of the very first and had only a 33 Gig hard drive as compared to my much newer XP Netbook with 120 Gig hard drive. So, only mentioned that as it may be reasons for uninstalls - to gain back critical necessary hard drive space to keep the machine running safely and as expected navigation speed-wise.Gerald60606 Windows Live Spaces http://gerald60606.spaces.live.com/default.aspx
