I need to change an Administrator user account back to limited.
I changed my kids limited user account on XP Pro to administartor to load some software and want to change it back so they don't mess anything up, but when I go back to the main user admin account and try to change their account back to limited it will not allow me. Currently I have the base admin account that I use and a second user account for the kids.1 person needs an answerI do too

Try making the change from the built-in Administrator account instead. All administrative user accounts are equal in XP, but possibly there is something going on in your own administrative user account that is causing the problem. Do Ctrl-Alt-Del at the Welcome Screen to get the classic logon box. Use "Administrator" (without the quotes) as the user and whatever password you assigned to it. If you didn't assign a password, leave that field blank. If you are using the built-in Administrator account for your daily work (not recommended but oh well at this point), see if you can create another administrative user (call it "Tech" or "CompAdmin" or the like) and make the change from there. If you run into problems and get errors, please quote the error messages exactly and include the name of the software you installed.Another way of attacking this might be to do a System Restore to before you made the change but this can cause issues with the software you installed so please try the other way first.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
