I need help making my system sleep.
I have a Dell E510 with a USB wireless Microsoft Comfort Desk-set and the computer keeps waking up. If I press the sleep button on the keyboard the screen blanks then it seems to sleep for about a minute then it awakes again. How do I fix this problem other than turning off the system?

Your system might've been woken up by a mouse or keyboard or network, check with: powercfg -lastwake To see all devices that can wake your computer, try: powercfg -devicequery wake_armed You can turn all these devices off with Device Manager, on the Power Management tab. Unselect "Allow this device to wake up the computer". Kinda strange Win7 wakes up from mouse movement by default. For me at least, that's triggered when a truck drives by :)

I tried the above answer and disabled wake on the mouse, but it still wakes up. I just checked and it was the network connection that did it. I will look to see if I can disable that. I am hoping it is the solution so I can turn on the wireless mouse again. I will check it later and report back. Funny I never had this problem with XP, but 7 seems like a hit to me.
