I need help...
hi guys... I'm using a windows starter os, last night I faced a problem with my netbook laptop. while my mom was using it, it suddenly hanged up, CTRL+ALT+Del won't show, it doesn't respond to anything even when I pressed the power button several times, I decide to remove the battery, but when I tried to open it, all it shows was black screen, it wont even respond if I press F8 or escape button, I tried rebooting for about 4 times until finally it responded to F8, I have chosen to safe mood it and tried to shut it down correctly, but then after doing that and opening it again, all it shows was black screen... I rebooted it again and after 3 times of doing that it responded again, I have chosen repair computer then Start up repair it seems to be doing so well until it hanged up again... after waiting for about an hour I decided to press the power button to shut it down... I opened it again (with the hope of it will be ok but then it was still black...)and after 4 times of doing it I came to the point that I have to choose system restore, It also seems to be doing well until it hanged up again... I was so helpless...what should I do? I'm afraid to reformat it, because I have tons of important files on it... including my thesis... I terribly want to know why it happened?... please I need your advice...

What do u mean by black screen? Does it show the OEM logo? When u can enter safe mode, copy all you files into an external hdd (or usb) first. Perhaps the initial hanging was due to a crash, but maybe system files / file system were damaged due to the forced shut down. Firstly I would recommend booting into safe mode and open Computer, right-click on C drive and click Properties. In the Tools tab choose Check Now, check all boxes and click OK. Click schedule disk check at next reboot, then reboot. Depending on your pc brand, you may have the option of reinstalling the os (from a partition on the hdd) without deleting your files, in this case your files would be moved to a folder named Backup before the reinstallation takes place.
