I need an ethernet adapter. How do I do this?
We had a virus and had to reformat our computer. Now I'm downloading all of our programs and such, but when I go to download the setup for the wireless router it says that I need an ethernet adapter. I don't know how to do this. Please help me! Thanks 1 person got this answerI do too

You shouldn't need to reconfigure your router. It's highly unlikely it was affected by the virus. What you need to do is locate the driver for the wireless card that was installed on your PC, if you have one. You can find that at the PC vendor's web site. How are you downloading anything if you can't connect to the Internet? If, instead of "downloading" you really mean "installing", then use a friend's PC to visit your PC maker's web site and download the drivers specific to your PC, storing them on a flash drive you can then plug into your computer.Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]

We're able to connect directly into the router with an ethernet cable, so we can get on the internet just fine. It's when I want to connect wirelessly that's the problem. We've had to reinstall everything back onto the computer, so I figured reconfiguring the router was just another step to get the computer back on it's feet. But, where would I go to find what vendor was used for the wireless card? Would that be in device manager? Any help would great. Thanks!

I ended up buying a program that would detect and install all outdated drivers. I think this has fixed most of the problems we were having. Thanks for you help.
