I like to create automated image backup of my 3 physical disks, that works in all user accounts
Hello to everyone,The instruction that I use on Task Scheduler is: WBADMIN START BACKUP -backupTarget:e: -include:c:,d:,f: -allCritical -vssFull -quietBut only work if on the Task Scheduler I use the administrators group account (with high privileges on), and of course, only starts when an user with administrator privileges session is working. What can I do for the automated start the scheduled backup when only one user without administrator privileges is working on the PC?.Season greetings!Xavipcero

Hi Xavi,As my test, I found my backup task works fine in the standard accounts after creating a new task schedule in the Backup and Restore Explorer. To do this, you must make a task schedulerm in your administrator account, then the task would runs normally in other standard account. I fully understand it takes some effort to elevate privileges each time. However, the UAC implementation protects you from any unintentional actions by other users. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you enable the UAC feature. With UAC enabled, unintentional operations can be prevented to protect the system. At this point, you can try to make a task in the Backup and Restore in your adminstrator account.Good luck! John

Hi John,If you put on the Task from one Administrator account this instruction (Windows 7 x64 Ultimate), it works only when an user with administrator account privileges is logged on the system. (See the first task information on the task that says that by default only works when an administrator account is logged)When ONLY one user is logged in the system, and this user do not have administrator privileges (says standard), simply the task do not start.Xavipcero

Hi Xavi,Once I create a backup Schedule manually in the BackUp and Restore using my administrator account, it will run automatically backup task in my other standard user accounts. Whatever, you can try to make a schedule in the BackUp and Restore, please don't run the command this time, then test if the task would run automatically in your standard account. Good luck!John

Hi, According to the following article, to configure a backup schedule using wbadmin, you must be a member of the Administrators group. To perform all other tasks with this command, you must be a member of the Backup Operators or the Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate permissions. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754015(WS.10).aspx Windows Backup and Restore Center can also accomplish backup scheduler function. Please setup backup in Backup and Restore Center and you can choose the drives and schedule as you need. If the backup has been setup, please click Change settings to configure it. According to my test, as John mentioned, when you setup a scheduled back, it will automatically start even you are logging in Standard account. Please take your time and have a try. For more information, please refer to: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/backup-and-restore Hope it helps. Vivian Xing - MSFT
