OK. I got a virus per Symmantec. I was telephoned by Nick at Life Support for PC. They said they were notified of our IP address from Microsoftbecause we were infected and they are calling to help remove virus. Is this a valid service from Microsoft? How did they get our home phone? Now they have my cell phone number, too. Please verify validation.1 person got this answerI do too

This is a scam. Microsoft doesn't offer a service like that. For something similar, see the announcement Warning: Security related E-Mail Hoax stating that network is infected in the Security, privacy, and user accounts forum.

I received a phone call last night on my home phone by Sam from Life Support for PC telling me they had been alerted that my computer could have a virus , and he asked me to turn my computer on so he could verify. I did not, and asked him to give me his number so i could call him back the next day. The number he gave me was not right. I then called Optus who told me they had never heard of this company and not to follow their instructions. It's definetely a scam....!!
