I have a LOT of things wrong with my PC...anyone wanna volunteer?
To put it mildly: I have a GINORMOUS problem. Almost EVERY download I get through, it ultimately fails. The download goes smoothly and correct; it's the opening of the file that gets me.EVERY major download I have gone through and tried to open ALWAYS says: "FILE IS CORRUPT" I recently got rid of Mozilla Firefox because of the slow speed of the internet webpages loading. I now haveGoogle Chrome. I recently had to re-installAVG 8.5 again. It won't update, but it says I'm protected. Should I stop trying to fix this computer and buy a new one and get new software? (therefore saving me a ton of aspirin for my headaches.) Is Microsoft Security Essentials better than AVG? It's free and AVG isn't. If I can save $50-70 bucks every year by not buying online protection for my computer, I will GLADLY switch. If ANYONE out there hasANY advice/suggestions/headache medicine,PLEASE tell me. Thanks In Advance, Firebender892 people need an answerI do too

Backup your data (to an external hard drive or a set of CDs or DVDs). If you have downloaded installers for any applications you will want to reinstall, save them as well. Make sure to save any license codes or install keys that came with downloaded applications. If your computer came from a "brand name" manufacturer with Windows pre-installed, restore it to its out-of-the-box state using the method provided by your manufacturer. This may be a hidden disk partition activated by a key press during boot up or it may be a set of restored CDs or DVDs provided by the manufacturer. If you purchased a retail CD of Windows XP, use it to do a clean install of Windows. Before you start, be sure to download and save to CD all of the necessary drivers. SeeClean Install XP orXP Home Clean Install orXP Pro Clean Install .After Windows is restored or installed, as the case may be, re-install your applications using the original media or saved installer. Restore your backed up data.
