I have 1000 messages in my e-mail because I haven't looked at it for 2 months and I can't receive anything and can't delete anything. HELP!
A lot of the e-mails are large videos or whatever that I don't have the time to open and now I'm screwed. Thanks anyone. It's Outlook Express 6.

What happens when you try to delete things? What kind of e-mail account is it? Not GMail obviously, so this is a POP3 account from some provider? Do you have Outlook Express configured to leave a copy of messages on the server? Can you log into the ISP's web mail and delete a few messages from there? -B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook

The deleted items folder might be full. Try emptying the deleted items folder by selecting all and deleting. You can also hold the shift key and hit the delete key and check.

Start by recreating the Deleted Items folder and go from there. Deleted Items is probably corrupt. In the off chance that you are keeping messages you want to save in Deleted Items, (a garbage pail), move them to a local folder you create and then do the following. Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Write the location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer or, copy and paste it into Start | Run. In WinXP, Win2K & Win2K3, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options Icon | View, or in Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | View. With OE closed, find the DBX file for Deleted Items and delete it. A new one will be created automatically when you open OE. Reboot and see if you can move and delete other messages now as well.
