I dont have permissions to do anything, and applications wont work.
Ok this question is going to be long, sorry about that. Over the past 3 weeks, I have been searching, searching, searching, searching, and searching for an answer to my problems and nothing has worked. First off, there is an application I want to run. For the FIRST TIME last night I was able to Authorize it on Sophos Endpoint Security and Control. Last night It would have worked just fine, but I didnt have any permissions to move a .dll file. I couldn't do anything with it, I am on the only account on this computer, I looked at the properties and I have full control, I have full control over Local Disc C:, my only HDD. When I extracted the application, and a settings folder, it was moved to desktop. In the settings folder was everything I needed except one thing, that .dll. I couldnt extract it by dragging and dropping, so i right click extracted it. It would show up in my folder, for about a few seconds, and disappear. I searched my entire computer for it, nothing. And now, here I am at 9:00 in the morning the next day, when i try to run the application, first off the icon has changed to some white page with a window on it, not the icon i had last night, it says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." Last night i didnt install it, and i had permissions. I didnt install it because it doesnt need to be installed to work. So basically, here are my questions i need resolved: Why dont I have permissions to do anything to my files, like I did on XP? How do I extract that .dll from my winrar without it dissappearing in a few seconds? Why can't the application ever work? P.S.: I am running on Windows 7 Home Premium.

I cant uninstall Sophos Endpoint Security and Control, not because i literally cant, but because my dad works as a professor at a university, and gets this sophos for free for an unlimited amount of people. He doesnt want me to uninstall it, and if he doesnt want me to and wont allow me to then i cant. Is there any other way to solve the problem?

I figured it out, all i had to do was go into the options and do this: Enable/Disable on access scanning for this computer In (On-access scanning) go to extensions and add/remove EXE IN (On-demand extensions and exclusions go to extensions and add/remove EXE Enable/Disable Live Protection I disable all this stuff when i want to use the application, then i enable it again when im done. :)
