I do not have the Windows XP group policy SP3
My original hard drive died on me so I was forced to get a replacement. I don't know if I'm allowed to have the group policy anymore since I'm on a replacement hard drive on an Acer laptop, but if I can could someone tell me how I can get a copy of it? I am the only one in my family with Windows XP SP3 and don't know anyone with Windows XP SP3. I have the Home Edition. If you need details let me know.

I'm not really sure what you're trying to accomplish but the Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) isn't available in XP Home. This has nothing to do with the Service Pack level. Please clarify what you are trying to do.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

I was just trying to get the group policy so that I could deactivate DEP, but now that I know that XP home edition does not have the group policy, I'm just going to have to search for another way.

It would be better to find out why DEP is giving you problems with a particular program instead. In all the many, many hundreds of XP machines I've worked on since XP came out in 2001 I've never had to disable DEP on a single one of them. So perhaps you might want to approach this by giving the details of what program/process you're having trouble with instead.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

I have absolutely no idea what programs DEP was blocking other than Windows Movie Maker. It would occasionally block websites I normally go to and always blocked foreign websites. DEP wasn't exactly a a serious problem as much as it was a nuisance. I found out how to deactivate it and already have so thanks for trying to help.
