Do you have password reset disk.. If yes you can reset it.. Refer: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321305 if all fails you can parallel install windows xp and move your data to the newly installed.

Hi.... & if I do, I have no idea. I am sure you can guess I am not a computer person. And your other suggestion is way over my head. Do you know if there is a number or site where I can contact someone directly at Microsoft? By the way are you an Oz?

Start the computer in Safe mode and log into the built-in account named Administrator . You'll have to know the password, if any, for that account. Once in, go to Control Panel > User Accounts and change the password for your regular account. Then, restart the computer and log into your regular account with the new password. If the computer has a floppy disk drive, you can make a password reset diskBoulder Computer MavenMicrosoft Most Valuable Professional
