I don't know why you marked this as "answered" then. You have to tell me what ISP you're using, how you connect to the Internet, and what the problem seems to be in order for me to help you. If you'd like me to try, please post back with the missing information. DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS OR PASSWORD!MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

Hello, I'm having about the same problem, and it's only been for about a month, now. I've used Outlook Express for over eight years for ALL of my email. I had some kind of malware or virus get hold of my computer on the 10th of January, and I did a clean and install, with the help of my son. I have everything installed again and I'm back up and running, but when I tried to reset my Outlook Express mail accounts, I got the message that the IMAP server seemed to not be a valid server. My ISP is AOL, and I have only a dial-up connection. THEY have no idea what the problem is. I've done all they told me to do, except the port number. I have no idea what they are talking about. Microsoft has directed me to the forums, so here I am.:)Any suggestions?
