I cant change the view of icons in my Windows 8

Hi,

I am having a set of troubles with my Dell inspiron 5520 Laptop which is working with Windows 8.1. I had been woorking with windows 8.1 for a while with no errors, but i went through some automatic updates to Windows 8.1. Then also i worked few days. Then suddenly my sysem got stucked when i was working with internet (also a song too ;) ). got into a blue screen saying "UNEXPECTED KERNEL MODE TRAP" and laptop got restarted.

  1. Now i cant change the view of icons into any other. I can change it into any option (like Large icons, medium icons or whatever) but after i go to any other location else and comeback it shows the usual view(default).
  2. Other problem is that i cant go to the "Chage account picture" option in the Start menu. When i click that it just show me a blank area.
  3. Also there is little software of mine called "Madhura Dictionary", when i click it a dialogue box pops out saying that i am logged in as a restricted user. But this is my one and only user which is the Administrator.
  4. Beside all these my system got stucked twice by now and i had to switch it off with the main button. And i feel this has got somewhat slowed too.

So it would be great if someone can help me with this. I would be really thankful to anyone who can give me a supporting hand here.

Thanx,

Regards
