I cannot delete a folder named Settings which contains settings.exe.
Try booting the PC into Safe Mode by Pressing F8 after the POST screen. This launches the minimal required services and executables and you should be able to delete the directory in question. In Safe Mode it would be worth launching MSCONFIG from the Run command and checking the Startup tab. Here you will be able to see if anything suspicious such as mario.exe or settings.exe are trying to launch at Startup. also check the Services tab for any suspicious executables or paths. MalwareBytes would be a good option to detect malware on your machine.Lee Bowman MCITP MCTS

Hi all, I have a toshiba laptop which runs on windows 7 ultimate, I found a process running named settings.exe. i tried opening the file location which was pointing to c:\Users\[username]\appData\Roaming\Settings (here resided the settings.exe). I tried to do properties of this process which marked the application called mario.exe which is said to be a virus. But i have avast internet security 2011 fully updated which doesn't detects it. I tried using Advanced PC Tweaker 4.2 which killed the process settings.exe but i wasn't able to delete the folder Settings. it said i don't have enough rights however i am the administrator. What i tried is.. i deleted the current user profile and created a new one now i was able to delete the Settings folder but i found it again in system32 folder and when i try to delete this it again comes back. please help. thank you
