I cannot connect to my wired home network
I successfully set up a wired network in my home (Win Xp/pro). It worked fine for a few days and then stopped working. I have even set it all up again using a different workgroup. I get a message that tells me to contact my adminsitrator because I do not have permission to access the network. I am not sure why.

Any idea why this is so, I'm experiencing a similiar problem with the OneCare firewall on Vista Ultimate. When diagnosing the error it tells me that there is a policy problem (but I'm not in a domain) with the Microsoft Firewall, "Microsoft Filter Authorize Connection Filters".

It may be unrelated to your problem, but if disabling the firewall fixes the issue for you, then look at this solution: http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1166728&SiteID=2 Good Luck!

When you "diagnose" the problem, what is the result?

the system says it has not got a problem, but it obviously has or the wired network would work and its does not, it is not the belkin router as i have changed it for another just incase it was that, and i have always had perfect internet access with onecare firewall on or off onall 3 pc's running vista on this network and they allhave the same problem on this network only when running onecare firewall and all say the same thing that there isNOT a problem with the network but there IS! this is also what tells me that it is the onecare software not the pc causing the problem as is the same on all pc's and all set the same with same operating system etc!
