I cannot completely remove the previously installed security softwares on my pc :(
3 days ago, my computer crashed and a computer tech wiped out everything on my pc... and he had to reformat and reinstall the software to make my computer up and running. He installed Kaspersky internet security software but when he gave the computer to me, i couldn't open the kaspersky's user interface and it seems like the software is not properly installed. So I went ahead and uninstalled kaspersky from add/remove programs - it was successfully removed as it shows on the screen. I installed Eset Smart security instead... the program didn't work properly for me so I tried to remove it. However, it encountered fatal error upon installation (I was uninstalling so it so I was a bit confused at the message) It says that I don't have access to certain data in my registry which is quite true because when I run regedit it, says the admin has disabled it. Under user accounts, the administrator is the only account there and it is the account that I'm using! O.O Regedit and task manager is disabled by the admin but I am the admin! I tried to follow the steps on how to activate the registry and task manager but it kept on going back to disabled afterwards. Anyway, my security center appears like this: Firewall is ON: Eset firewall Anti-virus is ON: Kaspersky isn't that weird? and both of the security softwares are already gone in my add/remove programs.. windows cleanup utilitly cannot see those software installed on my pc as well look at the screenshot of my security center http://i49.tinypic.com/ndukm.jpg I'm running on windows XP SP2 please help? :(2 people need an answerI do too
