I can only run Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Build 7600 in safe mode, how do I delete a program that requires the Windows Installer Service to uninstall?
Hi, after I installed Embarcadero RAD Studio 2010 my PC is unusable exept in safe mode. This program requires the Windows Installer Service to uninstall. Is there any way I can uninstall this program? If I don't use safe mode everything is ultra-super slow, Programs and Features never finishes loading, after about a half hour my screen goes black and never recovers.

Boot into Safe Mode, open Sytem Restore and select a Restore Point that was created prior to the installation of the program in question.Carey Frisch

You could also try using msconfig to disable Embarcadero on the Startup and Services tabs from Safe Mode. Then reboot and uninstall it the normal way. Click on Start then Run , type msconfig and press Enter . Click on the Startup tab and uncheck anything related to Embarcadero. Click on the Services tab, check the Hide all Microsoft services box, then uncheck anything related to Embarcadero. Bot normally, see if it comes up. If yes, use Programs and Features to uninstall Embarcadero.

There aren't any Embarcadero services or startups. Even though it was way down the date list I finally got around to removing Norton 360. Norton 360 2009 with it's Windows 7 update was working prefectly until I installed and ran the Embarcadero IDE. Maybe Embarcadero made Norton 360 sick somehow so that it turned down my laptop to ultra super slow. After I removed Norton 360 Windows 7 appeared healthy. I uninstalled Embarcadero, I need to get some work down before I try Norton 360 2009 again. Thanks,Mark
