I can map to the drive from Win 7 HE 32bit and VM from within WIN 7 Pro, but not from other computer with Win 7 Pro 64bit
Netgear WNDR37av2 with Seagate GoFlex Pro Desk 2TB connected. I can map it from one laptop with Win 7 Home edition 32bit, and am able to map the drive from the VM XP running within WIN 7 Pro (same machine I cannot map from without the VM running), but cannot map it from Win 7 Pro 64bit. Everything I can find online has sent me in the direction of local security policy. lan manager is now set to send LM & NTLMv2 session security if negotiated. I have gone to the drive with the other computer I am able to access it with and made sure everyone is able to have full control and the sharing is on. I can connect to the other computer from mine so I know the homegroup name is good. Let me know what else I can do. Also I just upgraded to SP1 last night, it made no difference and I still get the same Error code: 0x80070035 the network path was not found. when I turn on the HTTP options on the router I am able to connect to it through the browser so I know it is connected and available on the network.Jeremy Stahl

Hi, Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue. 1. Disable both sides firewalls and anti-virus for a test. 2. Try to ping the remote computer to see whether the connectivity is good. 3. Make sure the two computers are in the same subnet. 4. Check the Sharing options in Sharing Center. 5. Check the permission of the shared folders. Hope this helps. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi, I followed all of those suggestions, I am able to move around in my other computer fine but this drive is not hooked up directly to the computer it is off of the router. another wrinkle to this saga is I am able to map to the drive from Windows XP running on the Virtual Machine within Windows 7. I know the connectivity is there, I just can't figure out what the incorrect setting is. Jeremy Jeremy Stahl

Hi, Have you disabled the both sides firewall? Please use the remote IP address to access the mapped drive for a test. If you still can not access it, please provide the detailed error message. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi, I don't understand what you mean by "Have you disabled the both sides firewall?" this router is hooked into the Netgear router on the USB port. it is not connected to another computer to allow access. I cannot map to it but I can access it with the HTTP style address. the only error I receive is that it cannot find the drive, and it suggests I check the spelling. I tried to attach a screenshot in this thread but it didn't come through, the error says... Windows cannot access \\readyshare\Backup Chekc the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there might be a problem with your network. To try to identify and resolve network problems, click Diagnose. Error code: 0x80070035 the network path was not found When I hit Diagnose it fails to detect any solutions. Jeremy Stahl

Hi, The meaning of the both sides firewall is the built-in firewall software or 3rd firewall software. Not the hardware firewall. Also, does the readyshare is the remote computer's name? You may try to use the remote computer's IP to access the shared folder. Ok, I don't get how you can mark this as the answer when I already have told you it didn't change anything, however, this is not hooked up to another computer. I have a wireless/wired router with the drive connected to it, I have two laptops, one running win7 32bit HE, (which is able to map to the drive and access it) and the other laptop is running win7 pro 64bit (which is able to access the drive from the virtual machine but not from WIN7) Please let me know what else you think could work as this is not answered, I apparently have you all stumped. Thanks, Jeremy Jeremy Stahl

Hi, Because this thread has been quiet for a while, so we assume that the issue has been resolved. Now, please try to access the mapped drive via IP address such as \\192.168.0.1\shared . Did you receive any error message? Also, please disable the NetBIOS over TCP/IP for a test. I suspect that the issue is caused by the computer can not resolve the mapped drive's name. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/204279 Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I disabled NetBios over TCP/IP still no luck, can't map \\192.168.0.66\shared or shares or Backup (name of the backup folder) I also tried the UNC \\readyshare\Backup and shared and shares with no luck. I tried it before I changed the setting and after. let me know what else you think I should try. One more thing, I changed the NetBios back to the default setting (Use NetBIOS setting from the DHCP server. If STatic IP address is used or the DHCP server does not provide NetBIOS setting, enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP. Jeremy Stahl
