I can map to the drive from Win 7 HE 32bit, but not from other computer with Win 7 Pro 64bit
Netgear WNDR37av2 with Seagate GoFlex Pro Desk 2TB connected. I can map it from one laptop with Win 7 Home edition 32bit, but cannot map it from Win 7 Pro 64bit. Everything I can find online has sent me in the direction of local security policy. lan manager is now set to send LM & NTLMv2 session security if negotiated. I have gone to the drive with the other computer I am able to access it with and made sure everyone is able to have full control and the sharing is on. I can connect to the other computer from mine so I know the homegroup name is good. Let me know what else I can do. Also I just upgraded to SP1 last night, it made no difference and I still get the same Error code: 0x80070035 the network path was not found. when I turn on the HTTP options on the router I am able to connect to it through the browser so I know it is connected and available on the network.

Hi, I notice that you can connect the drive through browser; I would like to confirm if you can access the drive via UNC path? Have you enable NETBIOS feature in this Windows 7? Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP: 1. Go to “Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections”. 2. Right-Click on the connection and choose Properties. 3. Click “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Version 4” in the list. 4. Click Properties, and then click Advanced. 5. On the Advanced TCP/IP settings windows, go to “WINS” tab. 6. Under NetBIOS setting, click “Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP”, and then click OK. Meanwhile, I suggest you temporarily disable the firewall and anti-virus software to check what the result is. Hope it helps. Alex ZhaoPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Alex, Thanks for the suggestions, I enabled NetBIOS with no change, with or without the antivirus and firewall running. I am betting this is something simple but don't know what. Thanks again, Jeremy

Hi, Can you access the drive via UNC path? I would like to suggest you boot into Safe Mode with networking to check this issue. Alex, Sorry I didn't get an email telling me there was another reply. I am unable to access the drive via the IP address or the UNC path. \\routershare\Backup from IE or by mapping.... (is that what you are asking?) I also tried dissconnecting the other laptop in case it would only allow one access at a time with no change. Thanks, Jeremy I'll check this posting more often now that i know the notification isn't working. I'm checking the safe mode thing now and will reply to this as soon as I know.... I booted up in safe mode with no luck mapping the drive. \\readyshare\Backup is the proper name as well...

Update... this gets even more puzzling. I ran the virtual machine and am able to map the drive while running XP in the virtual pc mode.... Why will Win7 not see what XP running within Win7 can see and successfully navigate to?? Jeremy
