I can connect to networked IP addresses just fine, but connecting to 'servername' won't work. Local connection to internet and VPN are fine.
Just set up Windows 7 x64 as a VM on Fusion 3. I was using Vista on Fusion 2 before. When I first set it up, I couldn't even connect to my company's network servers' IP addresses. I use Citrix upgraded my Citrix client, and that resolved that issue, but I still cannot connect using the server name. Connecting to 192.168.x.x works but 'servername' does not. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you.

Good luck on finding an answer to that question. I've got the same problem and I've got a post on here, been going back n forth with a couple settings here and there. No answers. I can't tell you how many hours I've been researching and still no answers. So if you come across something, PLEASE PLEASE report back here. I'd be indebted.

I've searched Google. Perhaps my biggest problem is that I know next to nothing about networking. I need someone to help me, and I'm not getting what I need. I have no idea what I'm supposed to be looking for. A step by step instructions of exactly where I should look, what settings to change, what to change them to would be really, REALLY nice.

I, too, know next to nothing about networking. I've searched for hours, then came here as a last resort. A bit more help would be much appreciated.

"Do not wish to put in the effort"?!?! I've been plugging away at this for days. I've gone through and changed the NTLM authentication and EnableLinkedConnections and all kinds of other settings! I don't know what to do anymore! I apologize if I seem rude, but I'm really starting to get irritated with this. Everything I have tried so far has failed!

My apologies. I didn't mean to disturb you while you were on your high horse. I've searched. I've gone through the instructions posted here and elsewhere. Enabling Netbios over TCP/IP does nothing. I'm not in a workgroup. File/printer sharing? Nothing. Don't know what else to tell you, dude.

Well, if nothing else I know someone else suffers with me. ;)

Hi, May I know if this computer is in a workgroup or a domain? If it is in a domain, please check your DNS configuration. Considering this machine is virtualized by VMware Fusion and we have limited recourses about how it works. Therefore, it is recommended that you contact VMware for further investigation since they are familiar with their products.
