Looks like the DHCP is not enabled. Check it out on the wireless box.Vote if answered or helpful, I am running for Office (joke)! The DHCP is enabled, when I used a external wireless adapter, everything works fine.

Also i see the node type as unknown ,i dunno if that has anything to do with ur problem but its worth to give it a try and in the netbt\parameters registry key add a Dword named Nodetype and choose peer-peer,hybrid etc etc...i would advise peer-peer which means value with number 2 !Kind regards,RR

I've added a Nodetype to peer-peer, it's still the same.

You need to logged into the router config page and ensure that the ssid and passphrase are the same for both wireless setting under router config as well as your laptop. Advise you to access the router config page with a ethernet cable plug onto the lappie for the time being, once the above is done and your wireless is detected save and exit, next try accessing it using wireless

Get rid of excessive numbers of adapters, too many can be a nuisance. Check the firmware on the box too, just in case.Vote if answered or helpful, I am running for Office (joke)! i also think too many adapters can cause conflicts and undesireble behavior which it so happens to be in my case months ago when i had 3 adapters enabled ,when iconnected to the internet everything worked fine but the connection icon under the system tray would show with a red cross!!Kind regards,RR

Go to the device manager and disable all the unused network adapters. The tunnel is a service not a device.Vote if answered or helpful, I am running for Office (joke)! I disable the Ethernet adapter, and have only the wireless adapter available. I still can't connect to the router. BTW, I went to the library today, I can connect to the AP. Do u think it's the problem for the driver?

Sounds like the wireless box needs to be reset, try unplugging it and see if that helps. Vote if answered or helpful, I am running for Office (joke)! Hi, Based on my research, I would like to suggest the following: 1. Ensure that the driver for the NIC and the firmware for the router are all up-todate. 2. Check if the network connection works if you manually assign IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and the DNS settings to the wireless NIC referring to your network settings on a good computer. 3. Please also run the following command in an elevated command prompt to disable Windows Firewall and check the issue: Netsh advfirewall set allprofiles state off Note: you can turn back on with the command Netsh advfirewall set allprofiles state on. 4. If possible, pleasetake this computer to another network and see how it works. If the issue persists, please also capture a netmon trace for our further research: 1. Download the Microsoft Network Monitor 3.3. 2. Install network monitor on the computer and start to capture. 3. Run the following commands: ipconfig /renew 4. After the issue occurs (the computer fails to get a correct IP Address), stop capturing and save the netmon trace file to check the related network activations. You can also upload the trace file to Windows Live SkyDrive and share its URL with us Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
