Of course the new user account doesn't have the same things that the old one had. It's a new account! I'm not sure what you were expecting. If what you are really saying is that you created a new administrative user and your old user account has "disappeared", then this is by design. You have XP Pro or Media Center and were using the built-in Administrator account for your daily work. Since the built-in Administrator is not really meant to be used for daily work, it is designed to disappear when the second administrative account is created. You can still use it for your work, however. To put an icon for the Administrator back on the Welcome Screen: Enable Administrator account on Welcome Screen - http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_admin_ok.htm Make sure you have at least one extra administrative user account for emergencies (call it CompAdmin or Tech or the like) which no one uses for daily work since you are using the built-in Administrator yourself.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

Sorry, but you haven't provided answers to my questions or enough information for me to help you. Either clarify your situation - and I realize this will take more than one sentence - or take the machine to a competent local professional (not a BigComputerStore/GeekSquad type of place). These links will show you what details to include in your next post so people can help you: http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Usenet (you can ignore the references to Usenet/newsgroups since you are posting on a web forum but the suggestions about how to write the post are applicable here too) http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/555375 - How to Ask a QuestionMS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
