I added a new pc to the network from a rougher, the cat 5 cable is about 150' long.  I am running windows XP pro.  I can connect to internet sometime and sometime will drop out.  I have talked with provider and they say it is the pc.
I seem like whenever I am on the internet and decide to setup the office network that is when it starts giving me problems. I have two other pc on the system with no problems. I have had the pc checked out the make sure that it and the internet card is OK. I have also replaced the end plugs on the cat 5 cable.

Hi, 1. Did you make any changes to this computer recently?2. What type of office network are you trying to setup? 3. Do you get any error message when the internet disconnects?Method 1.Let us first check in the safe mode with networking if the issue exists or resolved. Here is how:a. Restart the computer. b. As the computer is restarting, repeatedly press the F8 key until you see the Windows Advanced Options screen.c. Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode with Networking, and then press ENTER. For more information about safe mode, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:315222 A description of the safe mode boot options in Windows XPd. Once the computer starts check if the issue still persists.Method 2.If the issue does not exists in safe mode that means it's a high possibility that a third party application is causing a conflict. This operation starts the computer by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. Refer to the article below to start Windows XP in clean boot state. How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" statehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353Note: This article describes how to configure Windows XP to start by using a clean boot and then how to return Windows XP to a Normal startup type.
