I accidentally MERGED Windows 7 and Windows XP folders!
Hi, Until yesterday i had Windows 7 Ultimate installed. Then i decided to switch to Windows XP. And it seems that when i have installed XP, the Windows, Program Files etc. folders have merged. Both Windows 7 AND Windows XP work fine. Should i expect any difficulties using XP. I do NOT want to use the Windows 7 which was already installed and there is no sense in the Windows directory being 19 Gigabytes. How can I... split them or something? Sencierly, Peter Petkov

Hi Peter, Would you please let me know if you have the dual-boot or install Windows XP directly on the partition which includes Windows 7? If you no longer use Windows 7, I suggest backing up the important files, formatting the partition and then use the Windows XP installation to make a clean install. If you create the dual-boot, the Windows, Program Files etc are on different partitions. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/Video/ff710733 Best Regards, Niki Please remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
