IPv6 stateless autoconfig not working
I am using a Cisco 870 a internet gateway. It has a 6to4 tunnel configured and is advertising the network (2002:x/64) into my LAN via router advertisements. All my Vista and W2k8 systems configure the appropriate permanent and temporary IPv6 addresses via stateless autoconfiguration. On W7 this is not happening. The interface has aLink-Local Address (fe80:x) but no 2002-address.I checked the settings in netsh->interface->ipv6->interfaces but I couldn't find anything that would explain this behavior.Any help to resolve this issue would be appreciated.Update: Configuring "normal" (2001:x) IPv6 addresses via stateless autoconfig does not work either.Jrgen

Did anyone find a solution to this? I have a cross-post here regarding the same problem (well I'm using normal IPv6 space and not 6to4) on the RC image... http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itpronetworking/thread/096622d4-3f63-4fd7-9b28-cab3766bd2d1

I my case it was related to the WLAN card/driver. The behaviour described in my original posting occured using a Linksys WPC4400N Draft-NWLAN card with Linksys drivers (Vers. 1.0.0.11 from 29.11.2006 - I haven't found anything more recent).Using a wired Ethernet connection in the same machinew/ Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit card and Microsoft drivers (Vers. 10.100.3.0 from 18.2.2009) everything works as expected. With another notebook using an Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN card and Intel drivers IPv6 autoconfig worked as expected as well.Jrgen

Yeah, if you see my last post in the other thread, I'm starting to think that's the same problem I'm having, my WLAN drivers are the same vintage. Thanks for the response. Wes
