IPv4 lost after installing SP2
Hello, I've run into a problem and I don't know how to solve it. I have Vista Home Premium on a Gateway TabletPC (preinstalled); after installing the Vista SP2 (through automatic update) I've lost all network conectivity, both wired and wireless (both worked before SP2; now they show 'Limited connectivity'). Investigating what could have happened I've noticed that the TCP/IP protocol IPv4 is no longer shown in the list of protocols, only IPv6 shown there, for both wired and wireless network addapters - so this might be the cause (my router for sure doesn't know IPv6). Questions: could this happen? Why would Vista SP2 remove the IPv4 (I've applied the SP2 over the wireless connection)? And the main problem: how could I re-install the IPv4 protocol? (I've tried to install from the original CD, I've tried to uninstall the SP2, I've tried to update the network drivers - no luck; and reinstalling the OS, or doing a system restore, is the latest solution, that I would avoid if possible) Thanks in advance!
