IPv4 addresses no longer show except on one machine
Hi, I had an XP SP3 machine I used until recently. Whenever I used ping or tracert ALL machines on my network returned IPv4 addresses. After trialing WHS 2011 and SBS 2011 I ended up going for Windows 7 Ultimate x64 to replace the XP machine as my server. WHS 2011 and SBS 2011 had nothing to offer, and since DE was removed from WHS that product is more than useless. Anyway, I run Coldfusion 9, Firebird 2.5, OpenDNS updater and Windows Backup on the new server. When I ping any machine I get the IPv4 address. My home page references #CGI.REMOTE_ADDR#, which is a coldfusion variable which returns the IP address. It shows the IPv4 address. But when I go to any other machine I see the IPv6 address when pinging/tracert any other machine on the network, including the server. Why? How to I get the IPv4 addresses showing again on all machines? thanks

The server was - as I stated in the original post - WINDOWS 7 ULT x64, as I did NOT end up installing WHS. In any case, the problem is resolved. M$ is moving towards providing more seamless IPv6 support. CHanges occured through Windows updates that caused the problem. By disabling IPHeler and disabling IPv6 in the network adapter properties the machine would again display the IPv4 address.
