IP address conflict
I've installed a NIC on my pc and assigned an IP, laterly i removed the NIC and want to assign the same IP at the another NIC on same pc. When I entered the same IP it says this IP is already assigned to another NIC and it stored on the pc even though that NIC is absent. So how do I remove the previous record of IP address from my pc?1 person got this answerI do too

Did you un-install the NIC in Device Manager, or just take it out of the PC? If you didn't un-install it, put it back in, go to Device Manager, and un-install it. Then turn off the PC and take out the NIC.Boulder Computer Maven Microsoft Most Valuable Professional

I got a message a couple of times that my IP address is being used by someone else. It seems as though someone has duplicated, and is using, my IP address. How do I find out who is using it; and, better yet, how do I change my IP address?

Do you have a wired or wireless router? If so, it can malfunction and assign the same IP address to two computers on your home network. Rebooting the router by unplugging it from the power line for a few seconds should fix the problem.Boulder Computer Maven Microsoft Most Valuable Professional
