IP Confing not recognised within Vista
I am trying to run "IPCONFIG" to check the usual IPv4 and Default gateway, due to having a problem connecting to the internet. I am also unable to access the router settings page via its IP. Any Ideas on how to get IPCONFIG to work? or is it a fault with the Shell?

Hi Mat-Xei, We can run the command in CMD windows directly. 1.Click Start button, type CMD in Start Search bar and press enter. 2.Type IPCONFIG /all and press enter. Did you get result? However, please post the result on the forum. If the IPCONFIG cannot run, we need the result to troubleshoot IPCONFIG problem. If the IPCONFIG run properly, we need the result to troubleshoot network problem. Thanks.

Hiya, I have tried that and once again it say the command is not recognised... I have tried running both as admin and as a normal user. Same result. I have checked the shell registry files and all seems to be okay no missing or corrupt files... Any ideas?

Hi, Thank you for your update. Given the situation, I suggest you check whether the IPCONFIG file was missing on the computer. Please navigate to C:\Windows\System32 to check whether the ipconfig.exe file exist. If the file can be found, please try to take the following steps to run the command. 1.Click Start button, type CMD in Start Search bar and press enter. 2.Type cd %windir%\system32 and press enter. 3.Type IPCONFIG /all and press enter. If the command can be run, your problem may be caused by corrupt system variable settings. You can try to take the following steps to verify the system variable setting: 1. Click Start, right click on Computer, choose Properties. 2. Click Environment Variables under Advanced tab. 3. In System Variables, find Path and double click it. 4. Please add the following value into it: %SystemRoot%\system32 5. Apply the changes. Hope it helps.
