IPV6 AND WINDOWS 7
Hi all. I finally got ipv6 and my hurricane electric tunnel working correctly on my windows 2008 r2 server. i can ping, access ie etc and ping other work stations with ipv6. the problem is on this work statiion here running Windows 7 build 16235. Which should be RTM. I am assigned an ipv6 address automatically. I beleive the dns server got setup as stateless (which ever the default is) because I didnt know what it did when I set it up. Anyways it gives me an ip address with fe80 and % at the end. if I use ping -6 it will ping my server and outside sites like www.kame.net. when i use regular ping and access on ie it brings up the ipv4 site first if there is one. something in the machine thinks to use ipv4 first even though ipv6 should be the default. I have read everything I can on the subject like for 3kws now and cant figure it out. my router and all interface cards are passing protocol 41. my firewall isnt the problem. So any ideas how to fix it? I am not too techincial but I have read alot and am learning about it slowly. I still have 2 yrs until ip addresses run out :) Thanks Alecalecjwasserman
