IPV4 wont Install on Vista
I recently purchased a Toshiba Laptop which came with Vista Home Premium. I have downloaded all of the current updates from Microsoft. My connection to the Internet and my local network were working fine. I was connecting my Norton Ghost to the machine and it was not deploying it's agent. I found a solution on the Internet and it called for me to delete the Winsock and Winsock2 entries from the Registry and recreate them.I ran the netsh winsock reset the looked at the netsh winsock show catalog and it was clean.I then ran the netsh int ip reset reste.log and rebooted the computer.I noticed that i was not connecting to anything anymore.I looked at the catalog again and noticed that only the IPV6 entries were there.I then cleared the catalog again and just loaded the netsh int ipv4 reset by itself and and recieved the RESETING ECHO REQUEST. FAILED message I then rebooted the machine again. The catalog was empty.I can load the IPV6 entries but not the IPV4 entries. Can anyone tell me which file the IPV4 entry is in and maybe I can just replace that file.I have tried unsuccessfully to install the IPV4 many ways but with no success. All help would be appreciated.

I am having the same issue after I updated my system to Vista SP2 (ultimate edition). Now even after I uninstall the SP2 same issue still occurs.
