IM conversation history won't save

Lync Server 2010 running on W2k8 R2 server.

Windows 7 client, lync 2010 client, outlook 2007 SP3

~ 50 user environment

We have one user in our environment whose im's don't show up in outlook's Conversation history folder.  Works for everyone else.  Has basically not worked for this user since well before I came to the company.  Possibly never worked.

Did all the obvious stuff: Made sure Lync client was set to save convo's.  Repaired lync install.  Repaired office install.  Removed lync client reloaded, removed and reloaded office.  Ran outlook with /resetfolders switch.  Created new outlook profile.  Created new windows profile.  Logged in as user on a known-working PC, no joy.  So it's not the PC, or the software on the client side.

We do not use policies on the lync server.

IMAutoArchivingPolicy is set to 1 (on/true) in the registry.

Looked at config info on lync.  MAPI and EWS status is "OK".

I removed this user as a lync user on the lync server.  Readded.  No joy.

Looked at c:\users\user\appdata\local\microsoft\communicator\history spooler\  there ARE .hist files being created and stored there.  They just aren't getting to outlook.

I don't know where to go from here.  Recreate mailbox on exchange???  (Exchange 2010)

Thanks in advance!

In Outlook connected the main user's mailbox? For example, can be connected to the mailbox that simply have full rights.

Does user have same SIP and SMTP domain? What about UPN domain?

For best practise these should be identical.

You could disable emailcomparision check :

set-csclientpolicy -disableEmailComparisonCheck $true

But this is not recommended to have on,since it will cause IM to be stored on other Outlook profiles!

I'm not 100% certain what you are asking.  User has full access to her mailbox.  She has only 1 mailbox.  All other features work.

We have only one domain.  They are identical.

The other suggestion is not a viable choice.

Thank you though.

Make sure users mailbox folder count in not more than 1000. If its, please ask user to reduce the count and test.
To get the folder count, please use the below exchange cmdlet
$a = Get-MailboxFolderStatistics -Identity User Name $a.count

Thanks John.

Her folder count is 15.  I should have included that in my original post.

Hi,

Please try to compare if there is any difference of attributes for this issued user and other well-worked Lync account.

Please try to create a new policy for EWSFindCountLimit with new search restriction for this issued user and then test again.

Here is a similar case may help you:

This was not the answer.  It shouldn't be marked as such.

There are no policies in place for any users, or at the site level.  Everyone is identical.  I'm at a total loss.
