IIS losing settings
Hi,I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.IIS is losing my settings everytime I overwrite my files.I have set up IIS and deployed a web application to it.I got all the settings correct and could view it.All good so far.If I now overwrite that with new files (using Visual Studio or by hand) the setting are lost.In particular I noticed that the "Default Document", the "Directory Browsing" and the "Authentication" settings were reset.Has anyone else seen this?Any suggestions on how to switch it off? Thanks, Vin

Hi,I hadn't tried that since this a clean machine.I just assumed it was either a feature or a bug.I'll try uninstall and see if it makes a difference. Vin

Reinstalling made no difference but I have found the problem. It is a feature. The version of IIS on Windows 7 writes the settings I was having trouble with to my web.config when you change them in the IIS Manager so when I redeploy they are overwritten.I don't know where the previous version put them but this seems to be new behaviour since I never had an issue with it before.Oh well at least it wasn't a bug, I have added to settings to my source controlled web.config and everything is fine. Thanks anyway, Vin
