IIS cannot be reinstalled on Windows 8.1

I have Windows 8.1 installed on my computer. I selected "Turn Windows Feature On or Off" and selected Internet Services. Clicked OK. It installed correctly. Launched web browser and went to http : //localhost and verified IIS8 logo.

I installed PHP (Azure) packages from Microsoft. It installed some things I did not want. So I went to Programs->Uninstall a program and uninstalled all programs that were installed that evening (including 2 packages whose names I forget which were IIS8) related.

Then I opened "Turn Windows Feature On or Off" and deselected Internet Services. Clicked OK. To clean everything out. Then I opened "Turn Windows Feature On or Off" and selected Internet Services again. Clicked OK. It went through the motions to install. Launched web browser and went to http : //localhost but there was no IIS8 logo. I tried this multiple times but did does not look like the internet server is installing correctly. Can anyone help?

Hi,

In addition to S.Sengupta said, we can use DISM command to uninstall and reinstall IIS.

dism /online /disable-feature /featurename:Name-of-Feature

e.g.dism /online /disable-feature /featurename:IIS-WebServer

Also, please refer to:
