IE problems
I'm not sure this is the appropriate forum, but i've noticed some problems with IE8 in Windows 7 RC. I'm also running the McAfee Security Center 9.1 Beta, which I suppose could possibly contribute to these problems.1) The recent pages button has never worked for me. Any time I click it nothing happens. Also, I'm not sure these things would affect this feature, but i'll point it out anyway... I have history turned on and I'm not in the private mode when this happens.2) External links rarely (if ever) work. When I click a link that goes to another website, it won't load. I can click and reclick and reclick and hit refresh over and over but the page simply will not load. But if i manually type in the addressthe link was supposed to go to (or right click the link, select copy shortcut and paste to the nav bar),it loads right up. This is especially maddening with javascript links since my work around of typing in the url won't work.Mostly just wanted to report these glitches!

Detmsp, As you pointed out, a preview OS and a beta antivirus isn't exactly the best combination. I'd recommend disabling McAfee and resetting your Internet Explorer settings via the Advanced tab of the Internet Options menu, to see if that doesn't solve the problem for now.-Alex

detmsp - This is the right place...Now then, a couple of things..1.) Exactly which "recent pages button" do you mean? There's the history tab under the Favorites button - that has a list of all of the links you've visited. If you open a new tab, there's a list of pages you've recently closed that gives you an option to reopen them. 2.) You're not the first one to make not of this issue. There are some other posts that report the same issue in the past couple of days.

I disabled McAfee and both problems remained.Wolfie, The recent pages button I'm referring to is the small down arrow next to the back and forward buttons in the toolbar. The history tab displays my history just fine.

Detmsp -Ah.. thanks.. Never referred to it like that.. Now then... If you don't actually change from one page to the next, you'll never have a recent page show up there. If you open it in a new window or tab, you've technically never left the page. Note - the back and forward buttons won't work either.

I am having the same problem. Just to be clear. The forward and back buttons work. But the small down arrow next to the forward button does not work. And like the original poster I also have installed McAfee and don't see external links work unless I stop and then refresh.
