IE problem in opening new windows
Hello, Hoping someone can help with this one. IE is running ok, as long as I stick to a maximum of 4 open windows. Beyond that, right clicking on"Open in New Window" does absolutely nothing. Nor can I open a fresh windowwith homepage start up from my IE icon. If I close one of the windows, then I can. I can't even open Task Manager to see what's happening. This is not normal for me. My work requires me to compare info across many windows. I haven't added any large pieces of software of late, so I shoudn't be having any conflict or memory problems that way. One thing I noticed while investigating is that the file Mshtml.dll is not registered. It says "Mshtml.dll was loaded but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. This file cannot be registered." It sounds to me like something is blocking this file from being registered. Any ideas as to how to proceed? Thanks, NewTechTry

Hi, I'd check to make sure you got no spy/crapware loaded into IE. Start IE and go to Tools > Manage Add-ons and disable anything that doesn't look right. See if that works. If doesn't start IE7 in Safe Mode and see if it still gives you problems. If it doesn't, its most likely spy/crapware. Failing that, run the Windows File Checker to make sure IE hasn't become corrupted: Start > Run > cmd type: sfc /scannow Good Luck Mike Clarkehttp://mystyleit.comCLS, WSCP, MCP, MCTS, MCSA+M, MCSE+M
