IE freezes and I have to terminate it with task manager when I try to add to favorites
Since I put Windows 7 Beta on and now Windows 7 RC, I can't add to my favorites on IE using the Favorites button. When I press the favorites button, then press add to favorites, the screen freezes and never releases. I have to use task manager to cancel the program (it shows as not responding). Has anyone else had this problem? This is a clean install of Windows 7 and IE 8. Thanks.

What happens when you press Ctrl+D (the add bookmark shortcut)? Does that work, or is it simply a problem with the button? -Nick

I justhad the same problem, today. Only this is on Server 2008.Ctrl+D freezes IE also. Both the32-bit and 64-bit versions of IE 8 are exhibiting the problem.

I lost the ability to add Favorites to IE (IE would freeze when I pressed the "Add to Favorites" button). Tried many suggestions that I found on the web. Disabling add-on's resetting IE, looking for recently installed programs, The solution was within my favorites themselves. Either they were too many favorites, or one was corrupt, because after I cleared the "Favorites" folder located under C:\Users\<user profile>, the problem went away.
