IE New Tab Blank Page
Hi,
I'm running W7 Pro (32 and 64) on a number of Toshiba laptops and have run into what appears to be a common IE issue.
With IE8 and IE9, when I open a link in a new tab or new window the window is blank until I Stop and Refresh the page.
I have tried uninstalling IE9 to revert to IE8, running the command files in
ie8-rereg.all.zip as per instructions, including Resetting IE, sfc /scannow and IE (No Add-ins) - All with the same results.
The annoying thing is that I have some identical laptops that do work and I can't think of what I did differently in their build.
Please, please can you help?

Open up IE, next go to sub menu, under tools select internet options. Under general tab>home page, choose use default tab or alternativetly type a URL follow by apply & ok prior to leaving the internet options dialog box. Next reopen IE again &

Hi Daniel,
I can access the web fine and when I start IE the default home page comes up. That is not the issue.
After resetting IE the Home page is reset to toshiba.uk.msn.com.
When that page comes up if I then right-click on any link and select either Open in New Tab or Open in New Window I am presented with a new tab (or new Window) blank page with an egg-timer mouse pointer and spinning icon in the Tab header.
The page does not render until I do a Stop/Refresh on the tab (or Window).

Vincent,
Thanks for your help.
Unfortunately, none of those suggestions worked and I found that 4 of the DLLs would not register. sfc /scannow didn't help either.
I have decided to cut my losses and reinstall 7 and hope that same doesn't happen again.

Hi Steve,
Before you try the reinstallation, I suggest you can do an
In-Place Upgrade
to test the issue.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Frist, please refer to the article to test the issue.
You cannot open a new Internet Explorer window or nothing occurs after you click a link
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/281679
If the issue persists, please try the following steps:
Go to Safe Mode with networkingTry both Internet Explorer(32bit) and Internet Explorer (64bit) to check the results.
IE 64bit is located in C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer, IE 32bit path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe.
