IE 8 will not accept Cookies
Does anyone know how to get IE 8 on Windows XP to accept cookies anymore? Everything had been working fine for years but my computer had been misbehaving a lot recently. Finally it would not re-start anymore. When it came up it would halt with “Unmountable_Boot_Volume”. Anyway I had to re-load Windows XP and everything else. Now it will not accept any cookies from anyone anymore. My cookies directory in Windows XP is always empty and stays empty. I’ve done the obvious. On IE 8 I have put the Privacy control to “Accept All Cookies” but it still will not accept cookies. So I tried the “Advanced” choice and checked Accept for all First Party Cookies and Third Party Cooks and I checked the “Always Allow Session Cookies” and there is no difference. I have Windows Defender and Norton Anti-Virus on my computer but they are set up default-like and should not interfere with cookies. If I go to my email account I always have to type my password. That gets me in. Then if I go to another website and then right back to my email account I have to type in my password again. I can have the same IE8 browser window open (I’m not closing it in the middle of things) and I still have to type in my password. And all the time my Cookies directory remains empty (it just has the index file but no real cookies). Help! 1 person needs an answerI do too
