IE9 beta munu bar
I recently downloaded and installed IE9 beat on W7 32bit. The munu bar in IE9 won't stick. Is there a way to make it stick or is it not an option? Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. I do know that the ALT key does toggle the menu however, the menu goes away if I click anywhere else in IE9. Also, I do not get an option for "menu" when I right click on the "tabs" bar. Any other suggestions? Thank you.

You're right, there is no Menu bar option under Tool bars. It must be a design oversight by Microsoft, you can contact them via the Feedback button.

My guess would be it is by design. I would have it constantly showing also. I used it infrequently. If you read what's behind the changes, it appears that a clean look for viewing content is the goal. If you look under your group policy settings (gpedit.msc...Internet Explorer, "Turn on menu bar by default", unset), you'll find this explanation: "If you do not configure this policy setting, the menu bar will be turned off by default. The users are free to turn on or turn off the menu bar." Ok, that's how it is. The strange thing is, when you want to see the old menu bar permanently and set this policy to "enabled", nothing happens (explanation for "enabled": "If you enable this policy setting, the menu bar will appear in Internet Explorer by default and the users cannot turn it off." Not true.)."192 GB ought to be enough for anybody." (from the miniseries "Next Generation's Jokes")

EDIT: I just found out that I made a mistake. If you start gpedit.msc with administrator rights and without IE running, set the policy setting above to "enabled", the next time you start IE9 Beta and press ALT, the menu bar will stay and not go away when you press ALT again. The change will not apply if you have IE and gpedit.msc running at the same time. The setting is found in gpedit.msc (type that into the search bar), User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer."192 GB ought to be enough for anybody."
