IE9 beta and Vista
I was referred to this group from the IE group. After installing IE9 beta on Vista... double clicking the icon sometimes I see a window flash briefly most times I see nothing and no response. When I start clicking multiple times quickly usually I can get it to open. Therefore the problem is intermittant. Also the new tab sometimes works and sometimes not. Any ideas here? I am inside a corporate LAN (active directory) and have not updated Vista in approx 6 months. Are there any logs to view on this? Thanks - Bill

Could you test this under a different user profile? Login as a local account or have someone else login with their account and see if it opens there? You could also try Control Panel > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset.MCTS 70-620 Certified
Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now

Hi, Thank you for your post! First, let us troubleshot the issue in IE without add-on mode to check the result. 1.Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). If your browser appears to be working properly in Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) mode, continue with the following steps to help identify which add-on may be causing the problems. 2.To isolate the specific browser add-on that is contributing to the issue, you can use IE’s Manage Add-ons feature to pick specific add-ons to disable: a.Click Tools -> Internet Options. b.Click the Programs tab, then Manage add-ons (see figure below): Note: The Manage Add-ons option under Tools is disabled in No Add-ons mode so you must go to Internet Options, Programs, Manage add-ons to manually enable/disable add-ons. c.Select an add-on in the Name list, and then click Disable. d.Click OK, OK again, OK again and then close IE. 3.Restart IE normally and see if your problem is resolved. a.If it is, you should uninstall the specific add-on via Control Panel’s Add/Remove Programs or the applications own uninstaller. b.If the problem persists, you will need to repeat steps 1-3 until you have identified the specific add-on causing the problem. Tip: Disable several add-on’s at once to speed up your process of elimination. Regards,Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
