IE9 White screen
This is the first time I have posted any question on the web so please be tolerant - thanks. I am running an Acer laptop running Windows 7 and IE9. I have had no problems since getting my PC (over one year ago). Win 7 and IE9 all up to date and running MSE. I have two users: Mike (that's me with a password) and a Guest user. I was accessing the web and IE was launching another web page when it went blank. Couldn't get anything to display so in the end I did alt+del and did a restart. On the restart I get a white page, I then see the normal desktop but the white screen then occupies all the screen. I get a blue circle with an i in the centre followed by: This program cannot display the web page. There is further information on try to connect to the internet etc. I cannot do anything at all. I cannot 'escape' - nothing! If I try to launch task manager - it briefly appears then disappears. I can switch to my 'guest' user a/c and I have run the MS FIXIT programs, ran MSE etc etc - no issues at all. Internet ok BUT if I switch to 'Mike' user there is still the white screen with the above words on it. Had a look at all the forums but nothing seems to cover my issue. Any help appreciated.

Hi, At this time, we may try to reset Internet Explorer settings for a test. 1. Click Start, type in inetcpl.cpl and press Enter. 2. Switch to Advanced tab. 3. Click Reset to reset IE settings. 4. Click Apply and OK.Kim Zhou TechNet Community Support
